The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

Vehicle Purchase Tax Exemption of New Electric Vehicles

Since 2014, the Chinese Ministry of Finance exempts the purchase of low-emission vehicles from a vehicle purchase tax.
This fiscal policy has been renewed several times over the years and is still enforced until December 2023. 

Battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, and fuel cell vehicles are eligible for this tax exemption. 

According to the State Administration of Taxation, this exemption over the year 2023 is expected to waive 100 billion yuan ($15 billion) in taxes.
